Beyond serving as a professional and high-quality workspace, serviced office centers can also provide the support staff solopreneurs need to grow and flourish in their businesses. Here, I’ll share three types of staff members that are available within serviced office centers.

Receptionists

Most serviced office centers provide a professional receptionist to answer calls to their clients’ business phone lines. This service is offered in one of two formats: on-site and outsourced receptionist services. Both formats include access to the friendly and helpful staff that’s located at the serviced office center. The difference between the two formats is the location of the person who actually answers the calls. On-site receptionists are located in the same building as the serviced office center. The on-site receptionist will also, in some cases, greet guests as they enter the facility. In this case, the receptionist that answers calls is not housed at the serviced office center. Virtual Assistants

While receptionists are primarily occupied with answering calls, virtual assistants (VAs) provide a wider range of support services. A virtual assistant provides services on a project-by-project and/or ongoing basis to serviced office center clients. VAs are either employed by the centers or have referral relationships with centers. VA’s can provide clerical, administrative, technical, and/or creative services. Solopreneurs can “hire” virtual assistants as needed without the stress and overhead associated with having traditional employees.

Center Manager

All serviced office centers have a dedicated center manager that oversees the operations of the business at the center. Office Suite Strategies recommends that center managers conduct regular meetings with clients to not only learn about how they can improve their services, but also to get to know their clients’ business goals. The definition of a solopreneur is an entrepreneur who runs their business single-handedly. That means that the solopreneur relies on him/herself to stay motivated and accountable. But, when he or she uses a serviced office center, the center manager can help provide that extra push to take the solopreneur’s business to a new level.

Solopreneurs are not alone when they use serviced office centers. They’ll have access to receptionists that help them project a professional image to their clientele, virtual assistants that carry out essential tasks, and a center manager that can serve as an accountability coach and motivator.
